My motor gadget wish list

Here’s my gadget wish list, motor only:
  • Garmin Zumo 390. A waterproof (IPX7) waterproof GPS navigation device specifically built for motorcycles. The newest version (390) comes with a curvy road option (useless in the flatlands where I live), bluetooth connection, lifetime map updates, maintenance logbook (for whatever it’s worth), remote tire-pressure monitoring (now that’s a useful application) and remote control of the Virb action cam (shit, why did I buy that Sony ;-)).

  • Gipro gear indicator. The Girpo gear position indicator fits all motorcycles with electronic ignition and a 5 or 6 speed gearbox. That means almost all modern bikes. With the bike specific looms it’s easy to connect. It’s available in 5 different colors: red, blue, green, yellow and white. For my bike it should be orange. Since that’s not available it’ll be the red one (looks like orange anyway, go check yourself).

  • Scottoiler KTM chain lube system. The Scottoiler kit is a vacuum-operated motorcycle chain oiler, which automatically lubes your chain while you ride. I didn’t decide yet whether or not to take the eSystem. The eSystem is designed to give the rider maximum flexibility and adjustability of their flow rate and allows for simple, one-touch changes to adjust the rate to suit conditions. It will add an additional ‘remote’ (wired) control to the handle bar. Not sure if I want that. The basic system is most likely the better choice for me, but first I’ll have to dig deeper into it. Update: already bought.

And that’s all (for this year at least). That adds up to a total of approx. €700. Now if only my savings account would add up ...
